SANDY — Police are investigating a shooting in a Sandy neighborhood.

Sandy police received reports of a shooting at 191 W. Eastgate Drive, which is located in a neighborhood near the 9000 South exit from I-15.

When officers arrived, they found a man in a church parking lot near 8800 S. Monroe Street with two gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to the hospital to treat his injuries.

Police said they are investigating to see what led to the shooting, but they do believe it could be gang-related.

Investigators are looking for a fourth-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee they believe is tied to the crime. They say the Jeep is dark blue and appears to have been made between the years 2014 and 2020. If anyone has seen the vehicle or has information on this incident, police urge them to call the Sandy Police Department at 801-568-7200.
