Students living in the fast-growing southwest quadrant of Salt Lake County will soon have a new option for attending college. In August 2023, Salt Lake Community College is opening a new campus in Herriman, making it easier than ever for nearby residents to access higher education.
Known officially as the Juniper Building at Herriman Campus, the full-service facility is currently under construction at 14551 S. Sentinel Ridge Road and is part of a unique and dynamic partnership between SLCC and the University of Utah. Students attending the campus will be able to earn an SLCC associate degree during their first two years of college and then go on to the U to earn an undergraduate degree, all at one location.
Supporting students and Utah's economy
Besides providing students with a high-quality education, the new Herriman Campus will support area businesses by developing skilled professionals critically important to our local economy. Offerings planned for the campus include:

On-campus services
Students attending the Herriman Campus will have access to a full spectrum of educational support services. These services include admissions, financial aid, academic advising, computer labs, testing center, disability resource center, on-campus dining, bookstore, career services, and tutoring options through SLCC's Writing Center and STEM Learning Center. The campus will also house a food pantry to assist students facing food insecurity.
Affordable education available to all
Students attending SLCC at the Herriman Campus can realize significant savings as they pursue undergraduate degrees. Those who attend two years of community college before earning a bachelor's degree save $10,000 in tuition and fees compared to those who only attend university.
In addition to these savings, SLCC also offers a broad range of financial assistance programs. These programs include SLCC Promise, which covers the cost of tuition and fees when federal grants fall short, and a wide range of scholarships. Scholarships are underwritten through private donations and fundraising events, such as SLCC's Giving Day, and are available to nearly any type of student.
