THE SUMMER — Like many of you, Duke the dog has a problem — he doesn't want summer to end.
Your reason might be because you love the sun, you don't want hiking season to end, or you simply hate the snow. Duke's reason is definitely the pool.
In this video, Duke is standing on his hind legs in an above-ground pool. His face is so content, you may start to wish you were in the pool too. But there is a time and a place for swimming, and according to Duke's "mommy," now is not the time.
She is not happy that her golden retriever is in the pool, so she is using her best words and tone to get him out. She scolds and reasons with her dog, but Duke looks at her without any guilt. Even as she approaches the pool, Duke gently bobs away from the edge with the most innocent expression on his face. It's ridiculously charming.
Duke feels so little guilt that he even begs his ball at one point, which is adorable audacity at its finest.
Just the video by itself would be delightful, but someone went ahead and added a voice-over with Duke's rebellious thoughts. And it's perfect. This turns Duke into a slightly grumpy (but still charming) teenager who says things like: "Dad would let me" and "I'm just chilling."
We may never know if Duke got out of the pool, but in the end, we know two things: Duke is bad at math and he's the best boy in the whole world.
