MILLCREEK — A motorcyclist died late Tuesday after police say he evaded a traffic stop and then crashed in Millcreek.

About 10 p.m., an officer tried to pull over a bullet bike at about 900 East and Rowley Drive, Unified Police Sgt. Melody Cutler said.

"The motorcycle fled, our officer did not pursue, and then a couple minutes later we got a call of a motorcycle crashed at 3765 S. 900 East," she said.

Cutler said investigators believe it was the same motorcycle. The driver, Shaun Praszynski, 25, lost control of the bike, flew off of it and slid down the road. He came to a stop under a parked vehicle, Cutler said.

Salt Lake police are investigating the death as an officer-involved critical incident because a Unified officer was involved in the initial traffic stop attempt.
