WICHITA, Kan., Sep 19, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- The "something old" for a Kansas bride turned out to be a couple of arrest warrants uncovered when she went to the county courthouse for a civil wedding.
When a court clerk searching for a marriage license entered Kandi Blakney's name into the computer Monday -- two arrest warrants popped up for bride, the Wichita Eagle reported.
Blakney -- in full wedding regalia -- was taken from the wedding chamber of Sedgwick County District Judge Richard Ballinger to a criminal courtroom where bond was set for $200,000.
"The groom was surprised, and so was she," Ballinger's assistant told the newspaper.
Blakney was wanted for probation violation after being convicted of possession of drug paraphernalia and theft.
