LEHI — A 15-year-old girl who was hit in an auto-pedestrian accident on 2100 North in Lehi on Friday died from her injuries that night, according to Sgt. Drew Olson with the Lehi Police Department.

A second teenager hit in the same incident is expected to recover. Olsen said Saturday that the teen has several injuries and fractures in his lower extremities and some internal injuries.

The girl was transported by air to Primary Children's Hospital, while the boy was transported to a hospital by ambulance.

Officers responded at around 4:30 p.m. on Friday to the intersection of 2100 North and 3600 West, where Olson said it appeared a Chrysler 300 heading east ran over a curb and struck the teenagers.

According to Olson, the impact knocked the two roughly 100 feet forward into a ditch.

"As soon as I heard the crash of hitting the pole, that's when I knew something had happened," said Christian Glass, who witnessed the immediate aftermath. "They had flown in the air maybe 10 feet high."

Glass said he immediately scrambled over to the injured teenagers from a gas station parking lot to see how he could help. When he found the teens injured and unconscious, he called 911.

"We're grateful for those who stopped," Olson said. "There were a lot of those who stopped and administered aid."
