EMERY — One person was found deceased and four were transported to hospitals after a pickup truck collided with several elk and rolled Saturday morning near Emery.
The crash occurred on I-70 in southern Utah, near the turn-off to Emery and east of Fremont Junction around 5:37 a.m.
Troopers reported the person who died was ejected from the vehicle as it left the road and rolled.
Two of the people in the truck were transported to hospitals by medical helicopter in critical condition, and the other two were transported by ground to area hospitals.
Westbound I-70 was temporarily closed on Saturday morning while helicopters were at the scene. Utah Highway Patrol asked drivers to be cautious in the area and be prepared for delays.
