MOAB — Two semitruck drivers died Tuesday morning after crashing near Moab, troopers said.

About 4:35 a.m., an International semitruck was driving north on state Route 191 when it drifted left, crossing the center line and going into southbound traffic, the Utah Highway Patrol said in a news release.

A southbound Kenworth semitruck could not avoid the oncoming semitruck, and they hit each other head-on in the southbound lane.

The driver of the International truck died on impact, troopers said. The driver of the Kenworth was treated but pronounced dead on scene.

The drivers' names have not yet been released.

Traffic was blocked in the area for several hours while the crash scene was investigated and cleared, the UHP said.
