THE DRIVEWAY — I have been chased by many an animal. Dogs, cats, birds — I'm pretty sure I was stalked by a bear once and I really don't want to talk about it.
The point is, I know the fear of an animal coming at you and I have empathy for those who experience the same.
Do some of us overreact a little when it comes to animals? Sure, but I don't care. In the moment, you have no time to really make a choice and something has to be done.
Once, I was in biology class in high school on test day. Just before the test was handed out, there was some commotion at a desk near me. I maneuvered to check out what was going on and saw it: A classmate had a boa constrictor in a duffle bag at his desk. I got up, walked out and did not return. My backpack was left and the test was not taken.
Sure, I overreacted, but what happened happened — and I feel for this delivery guy.
Back in 2019, a delivery man was dropping off a package when a dog came barreling at him. The delivery guy panicked and jumped onto the hood of the car to avoid the pup.
The owner comes out and starts getting after her dog but quickly notices the man sitting on top of her car. She doesn't really say anything, but her face says it all.
I'm sure this dog is a good boy just like most of the other doggos out there, but I would have been spooked myself and I may have ended up on the car as well. I also like that the Amazon delivery guy took care of the package and still delivered it.
