VERNAL — The missing 19-year-old man who had been last seen on May 21 in Jensen was found dead on Tuesday, according to Uintah County Sheriff's Office.

According to a Facebook post, Uintah County Search and Rescue found the body of Max Stubbs near his parked vehicle in an area south of Jensen at about 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

The discovery comes after multiple agencies joined search and rescue attempts on May 30 when Stubbs still hadn't been located.

According to Uintah County Sheriff's Office, aircraft from Utah and Colorado wings of Civil Air Patrol, along with a medical helicopter, joined law enforcement in search and rescue attempts for the missing teen.

The sheriff's office said that the Civil Air Patrol squadrons and a classic helicopter conducted multiple aerial searches in Uintah County before the discovery.

Stubbs had been missing from Uintah County for over a week and was last seen in Jensen, according to Uintah County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Brian Fletcher.

The Uintah County Sheriff's Office said that the investigation into Stubbs's death is ongoing, but there's nothing suspicious at this time.
