SOUTH JORDAN — Bingham High School is pivoting to online learning due to a high number of COVID-19 cases, according to the Jordan School District.
According to the district dashboard, Bingham currently has 32 active cases with 14 individuals in quarantine.
The administration announced that due to the Jan. 4 reset, the case count is not expected to drop below 1% before the weekend, moving the school to virtual learning for 10 days starting Jan. 15.
The district said that due to the Martin Luther King holiday as well as a grade transmittal day, Bingham students are only expected to miss two days of in-person learning.
The district noted that any students who are scheduled to go to Bingham for bi-weekly COVID-19 testing are still expected to show up. In addition, any students who planned to go to Bingham to finalize their grades with their teachers must do a temperature check and respond to pre-screening questions in the main hallway.
In-person classes are expected to return on Jan. 25.
