Farmington and Davis high schools shifting to remote learning due to COVID-19

KAYSVILLE — Farmington High School and Davis High School will be transitioning to remote learning due to an increase in COVID-19 cases, Davis School District announced Monday.

Both Davis and Farmington students will begin remote learning on Dec. 15 and will continue it through Dec. 18. All Davis School District schools are closed from Dec. 21. until Jan. 1 for Winter Break, and then students will resume in-person learning on Jan. 4

According to the district dashboard, Davis High School currently has 20 positive cases and Farmington High School has 19 positive cases. Typically, schools will transition to remote learning when it hits a 15 positive case threshold over a 14 rolling day period.

Davis School District currently has five other schools in remote learning due to COVID-19 outbreaks.

Those schools and their return dates are as follows:

  • Layton High School - Monday, Jan. 4
  • Northridge High School - Monday, Jan. 4
  • Syracuse High School - Monday, Jan. 4
  • Bluff Ridge Elementary School - Thursday, Dec. 17
  • West Point Elementary School - Thursday, Dec. 17
