SALT LAKE CITY — One man is dead and another is in critical condition after a crash in the Sugar House neighborhood Friday evening.

Salt Lake City Police Lt. Sam Wolf said the crash occurred at around 5:20 p.m. near Bryan Avenue and 1100 East. Before the crash, one of the vehicles involved had just been involved in another hit-and-run crash, police said Monday. The victim vehicle in that crash was following the other vehicle and trying to get its information, police said.

The car then ran a stop sign, crashing into a third car which was northbound on 1100 East near Bryan Avenue.

Police found two men involved in the crash. Both men were transported to the hospital in critical condition; after arriving, one of the men was pronounced dead.

The man who died was identified Monday as Arthur Miller, 55, according to Salt Lake police. The other man, who has not been identified, is expected to survive, police said.

DUI is being investigated as a possible factor in the crash for the surviving man, police said. The incident is under investigation.

Police initially said the crash occurred on 1300 East, but clarified Monday it was on 1100 East.
