SALT LAKE CITY — Skyline High School was served its formal closure recommendation Thursday by Salt Lake County following an increase in COVID-19 cases, school officials said.

Granite School District spokesman Ben Horsley confirmed that students from Skyline, located at 3251 E. 3760 South, were dismissed at the end of the day Thursday and wouldn't return for in-person learning until Nov. 20.

The Granite School District dashboard shows 18 positive COVID-19 cases at Skyline High School, with a total of 197 student cases districtwide.
