CIRCLEVILLE, Piute County — A 4.4 magnitude earthquake shook central Utah early Saturday morning.
The quake struck about 5:47 a.m. in the Tushar Mountains about 10 miles southwest of Circleville in Piute County, according to the University of Utah Seismograph Stations.
People as far away as Cedar City, about 45 miles from the epicenter, reported feeling the earthquake, a news release from the seismograph stations said. It could also be felt in Panguitch and Bryce Canyon.
At least two aftershocks struck in the area in the 30 minutes following the original quake, the release said.
