CEDAR CITY — A man who police say is a suspect in the disappearance of his mother was arrested over the weekend following a police chase.
Joshua James Glover, 32, was booked into the Iron County Jail Saturday for investigation of reckless driving, resisting arrest and other charges. He also had warrants for possession of stolen credit cards and for failing to show up to court for possession of a firearm by a restricted person and two counts of drug possession that were filed in March.
Glover’s mother, Kay Gosewisch, 73, has not been seen for several months. Police last week obtained a search warrant for her property and found human remains that were sent to the Utah State Medical Examiner’s Office for identification and to determine a cause of death.
A police booking affidavit identifies Glover as “the suspect in a homicide investigation.”
The case surrounding Glover has played out for months, when police say since April he made more than 30 withdrawals from her checking account and the woman has not been seen entering the bank, which employees say is unusual for her.
The bank manager told investigators Glover made frequent withdrawals from his mother’s account, draining it below normal amounts, according to charging documents.

Officers received a tip on Saturday that Glover was in a vehicle near a grocery store in Cedar City. Police attempted to apprehend him, but he sped off and at times was traveling in excess of 70 mph on residential streets with a posted speed limit of 25 mph, the affidavit states.
The vehicle he was in eventually collided with a police car and he fled on foot, according to the affidavit. Police said he was captured after climbing a fence into a resident’s yard.
Police have requested that Glover be held without bail.
