SALT LAKE CITY — A man was shot and killed Saturday morning near 900 W. North Temple in Salt Lake City.
The 34-year-old man was shot multiple times, according to Salt Lake Police Lt. Brian Sloan. He was transported to a local hospital but died of his injuries, Sloan said.
Police are not releasing the man's name at this time.
Sloan said investigators are on the scene but don't yet have a clear idea of why the shooting occurred. "Out of the few witnesses that were on scene," Sloan said, "nobody was able to give us a good idea of what happened."
The shooter is still outstanding, Sloan said, but police do not believe there is a threat to the public at this time.
A silver van was seen in the area at the time, but police aren't sure if it was involved. Sloan said there are many cameras in the area and police hope they will prove useful in the investigation.
