SALT LAKE CITY — Three more people were charged Monday in connection with the riot in downtown Salt Lake City on May 30 that resulted in damage all around the city.
Miles Dalahn Henry, 24, of West Valley City, was charged in 3rd District Court with criminal mischief, a first-degree felony; and rioting, a third-degree felony.
Henry is the 14th person charged for allegedly flipping over and vandalizing a Salt Lake City police patrol car. According to charging documents, Henry was seen kicking the patrol car’s windshield before telling others: “Flip it on its hood ... Hey, let’s flip it on its hood.”
Once the car was turned over, Henry helped rip the bumper off the vehicle, the charges state. Two others were charged federally with lighting the police car on fire. Court documents state Henry threw “what appeared to be paper” inside the car as it was burning.
Also Monday, Dakota Jackson Chandler, 22, of Sandy, was charged with criminal mischief, a second-degree felony; and rioting, a third-degree felony.
Chandler was one of at least six people who allegedly vandalized a TRAX platform, 210 E. 400 South, using skateboards and reflective sign posts to smash windows, according to charging documents. He is the third person to be charged in connection with the TRAX vandalism. Chandler was also seen throwing items onto the burning patrol car, the charges state.
And Quincy Jason Lewis Holt, 18, of Murray, was charged with criminal mischief, a second-degree felony. Holt is the fourth person charged in connection with spray-painting graffiti on the state Capitol grounds on the same night, according to charging documents.
