An Arizona couple who survived an August plane crash has come to Utah to be close to their kids and family while they recover.
Doctors weren't sure if Stephanie and Christian Nielson were going to survive after the crash. But Christian -- who is covered with burns, skin graphs and special protective clothing -- is now living with his sister-in-law in Provo.
Every day Christian makes a trip to the University Hospital burn unit to see his wife. "That's my medicine, to go up and see her," he said.He says they talk about overcoming future challenges and anything other than the plane crash.
Then there's Stephanie's blog, "The Nie Nie Dialogues," which has thousands of readers around the world pulling for their recovery. Will the blog resume? "[We're] not making any of those decisions at this point," Christian said.
He says his wife is about to undergo a tough therapy process to help her gain movement after being burned on 80 percent of her body.
Christian says he's already in physical therapy trying to get his strength and motion back.
