EUGENE, Ore., Sep 16, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- A military policewoman says she went AWOL instead of redeploying to Iraq because she feared sexual harassment.

Army Spc. Suzanne Swift of Eugene, Ore., told the San Francisco Chronicle her first tour was a nightmare because she was assigned to a post with only three other women, and received constant unwanted sexual advances from two superiors. She said when she tried making a complaint nothing happened.

Swift said she decided the day she was supposed to leave for her second tour that she could not go. She retained a lawyer instead.

The Army had Swift arrested by Eugene police. She is being held at Fort Lewis in Washington State while her harassment claims are investigated.
