SALT LAKE CITY — A West Jordan man who was convicted in November of fleeing from police now faces new charges for allegedly soliciting undercover officers posing online as juveniles.
Tyler Wade Christensen, 28, was charged Monday in 3rd District Court with two counts of enticing a minor and two counts of attempted sexual exploitation of a minor, second-degree felonies; and 11 counts of dealing in harmful materials to a minor, a third-degree felony.
Between Jan. 30 and Feb. 18, Christensen sent several sexually explicit messages and pictures to a person he thought was a 13-year-old girl online, but was actually an undercover officer, according to charging documents.
About the same time, Christensen did the same thing to a second undercover officer from another department who was also posing as a 13-year-old girl online, the charges state.
He was arrested when he arrived for a scheduled check-in with Adult Probation and Parole.
In November, Christensen took a plea in abeyance, pleading guilty to fleeing from West Jordan police, according to court records. In 2017, he pleaded guilty in two separate cases to misdemeanor drug possession.
