OZZY OSBOURNE - PARKINSON’S DISEASE
NEW YORK (AP) — Ozzy Osbourne has Parkinson’s disease. The rock star says he’s been diagnosed with the nervous system disorder that affects a person’s movement. Osbourne, who is 71, disclosed the illness during an interview on ABC’s “Good Morning America” that aired today. He says the diagnosis came after a fall last year. The musician canceled tour dates last year because of health problems. But he says he wants to get well and return to performing because he misses his fans. His wife, Sharon, tells GMA the diagnosis is “not a death sentence by any stretch of the imagination.” But she says, her husband has good days and bad days.

NIPSEY HUSSLE - GRAMMYS
NEW YORK (AP) — It’s fair to say most people outside the hip-hop world hadn’t heard of Nipsey Hussle until after he was shot to death last March. As this year unfolds, the slain rap star is on people’s radar because of his music, not his murder. Hussle is up for three Grammys this year. One of the nominations is for “Higher,” which features John Legend. It’s nominated for best rap/sung performance. Another track, “Racks in the Middle,” is up for two awards, best rap song and best rap performance. The Grammys are Sunday in Los Angeles — and the ceremony will also honor Hussle with a tribute performance.
HARVEY WEINSTEIN, DONALD TRUMP FACING TRIALS THIS WEEK
NEW YORK (AP) — Two major trials are getting under way in earnest this week. But both are set up so people who want to follow them closely will be limited in doing so. The big one, in Washington, is President Donald Trump’s impeachment; and the other is Harvey Weinstein’s rape trial in New York. Both have been the subject of backstage wrangling over media access. For example, there will be no courtroom cameras at Weinstein’s trial, meaning any images the public will see will be done by sketch artists — and descriptions by the few reporters allowed inside. The Senate will allow cameras to document the impeachment trial. But so far, the chamber has agreed to transmit only two generic camera angles of the proceedings.
PROSECUTORS TO BATTLE WEINSTEIN DEFENSE WITH SEX ASSAULT EXPERT
NEW YORK (AP) — Are prosecutors in the #MeToo era starting to get the upper hand when it comes to winning convictions in rape and sexual assault cases? It’s a question that may have a more definitive answer with the outcome of the Harvey Weinstein trial in New York. One factor in how the jury decides — is whether the panel believes defense claims that the accusers didn’t act the way one might think a sex crime victim would react. Prosecutors plan to call a sex crimes expert to tell the jury that sex crime victims sometimes act in ways that seem odd to others.

PRINCE ESTATE APPEARS TO HAVE SETTLED WRONGFUL DEATH SUITS
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — We haven’t heard much lately about the various lawsuits filed by Prince’s family after the musician’s death. And now it appears we know why. The wrongful death lawsuits have been dismissed in recent months — without public fanfare. That suggests family members have reached settlements with those named as defendants in the lawsuits. Among the defendants were a Minnesota doctor who saw Prince in the weeks before his overdose death, the hospital that treated him for an opioid OD a week before he died — and a drug store chain that filled prescriptions for Prince.

JAMES DEAN “RESURRECTED” THROUGH COMPUTERS FOR ROLES
LOS ANGELES (AP) — As technology continues to move forward, there are more chances for movie producers to go back in time — and “resurrect” dead artists. It’s happening with James Dean, who died way back in 1955. A company called Worldwide XR has ginned up an electronic version of the late actor for an upcoming film, “Finding Jack.” The company says it will be using the re-imagined Dean in other upcoming projects, too.
STUDENT’S EFFORTS LEADS TO DISNEY DOCUMENTARY
ST. LOUIS (AP) — It started when a black student from St. Louis created a book club because didn’t find books at his mostly-white school’s library that told stories of people who look like him. Now Sidney Keys III’s efforts to create a book club for people like him are the subject of a Disney documentary. The 30-minute feature documents Sidney’s creation of Books n Bros. The project was released Friday — and is currently streaming on Disney Plus.
