FLORIDA MOM HITS JACKPOT: 2 SETS OF TWIN BOYS BORN IN 2019

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) - A Florida mom says doctors told her she had a better chance of winning the lottery than of giving birth to two sets of twins in the same year. But Alexzandria Wolliston says she feels like she hit the jackpot with the births of Mark and Malakhi in March and Kaleb and Kaylen in late December. The West Palm Beach woman also has a 3-year-old daughter at home. She said she recently learned that both of her grandmothers lost twin boys at birth, which makes her believe her four babies are a blessing from above.

POLICE: GIRLFRIEND ASSAULTED AFTER COMPLAINING OF MAN'S GAS

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (AP) — Police say a Texas man accused of choking and headbutting his girlfriend because she complained about the smell of his flatulence has been jailed on an assault charge. Officers responded to a home in Wichita Falls, Texas, on Sunday afternoon following a report that Christopher Ragsdale had assaulted his girlfriend. Police say in a probable cause affidavit that the woman said Ragsdale assaulted her after she told him his gas smelled horrible. Ragsdale remains jailed Wednesday on a complaint of assault family violence.

TINY NORTHEASTERN IOWA TOWN EXPERIENCING BABY BOOM

SAINT LUCAS, Iowa (AP) — It seems residents of Saint Lucas are doing their part to boost the tiny northeastern Iowa town's population. Television station KCRG reported that the town of about 150 is experiencing a baby boom. Resident Courtney Schott said 19 babies were born to town residents from August 2018 to October 2019, and several families have announced that they're expecting again. The boom follows about 10 years of more young families settling in the Fayette County community. One resident says the town has completely changed from a “bunch of retired people” to a “bunch of young families.”

POLICE: LONG LINES AT VEHICLE OFFICE SEND CUSTOMER INTO RAGE

BAYONNE, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a woman angry about long lines at a Motor Vehicle Commission office in New Jersey smashed computer equipment, assaulted two staffers and kicked police officers as they tried to arrest her. Officials say Shawna Joseph was told to leave the office in Bayonne after she became irate Tuesday. The 28-year-old Jersey City resident then returned about two hours later. Joseph allegedly pushed the office manager and began breaking computer equipment. She then struggled with the manager, a security guard, and police before she was arrested. Joseph faces numerous counts, including criminal mischief, drug possession and aggravated assault.

SEARCH OFF FOR 'COMMAND VEHICLE' IN MYSTERY DRONE CASE

A Colorado sheriff has rescinded his previous call for the public to be on the lookout for a command vehicle that may be operating the mysterious groups of drones spotted in recent weeks over parts of Colorado and Nebraska. The Phillips County Sheriff's Office said in a statement Wednesday that the request for public assistance is no longer relevant, without offering more details. A person who attended a closed-door meeting about the drones on Monday for law enforcement and government officials said authorities were never looking for such a vehicle. Nobody has claimed responsibility for the mysterious nighttime flights of six to 10 drones in grid-like patterns.

PETITION SUGGESTS MEDICAL MARIJUANA FOR BROWNS, BENGALS FANS

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Petitioners are again asking the State Medical Board of Ohio to consider adding anxiety and autism spectrum disorders to the list of conditions that qualify for a doctor to recommend medical marijuana for patients. The conditions suggested in the second round of petitions the board received also include a football-related ailment: being a fan of the woeful Cincinnati Bengals or the Cleveland Browns. Don't expect that proposal to make it very far as a board committee reviews the petitions next month. Board members consider information from medical experts and scientific evidence before deciding whether to add a condition to the list.

CHICAGO AIRPORTS ADD BOXES FOR TRAVELERS TO DUMP MARIJUANA

CHICAGO (AP) — Chicago's O’Hare and Midway international airports have installed boxes where travelers can dispose of recreational marijuana before they board their flights. The cannabis amnesty boxes, as they’re called, were installed at each airport last week, just as legal marijuana sales began in Illinois. The Chicago Tribune reports the boxes are located just past the airports' Transportation Security Administration checkpoints. Chicago Police Department spokeswoman Maggie Huynh says that while it’s not illegal to have cannabis at the airport, possessing marijuana is still illegal under federal law. She says the boxes give people an opportunity to ensure they won’t run into an issue when they land at their destination.

MOON RIVER: ROCKET PART FERRIED ON THE MIGHTY MISSISSIPPI

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — It was a Mardi Gras-style celebration as a recently completed key component of a new rocket system was loaded on a Mississippi River barge in New Orleans. The core stage of a rocket for NASA's new Space Launch System is being floated upriver to the Stennis Space Center in Mississippi for testing. Hundreds of NASA and Boeing workers wore colorful beads and marched to a brass band Wednesday behind the core stage as it was moved like a giant parade float. The stage is part of a rocket for the Artemis program, aimed at returning U.S. astronauts to the moon.
