SOUTH SALT LAKE — Police have located a man who went missing early Thursday afternoon and was considered endangered.

Johnie Ray Turner, 56, was found safe at about 10:20 a.m. Friday after he was recognized by someone who had seen him on a news report and contacted authorities, according to South Salt Lake police officials.

Turner was located near 1379 S. 1100 West. Officials said he was cold, "but otherwise OK."

He had been considered endangered because he is nonverbal and wasn't dressed for the weather conditions, officials said Thursday.

Turner was safely returned to the Meadow Brook Rehabilitation Center.
