HUMAN HQ — All of you know my thoughts on bears, in general, and the inevitable bearpocalypse. Overall, I'm not a fan; but I also have a heart and a soul, and this video shows that humans are willing to put our man vs. bear squabbles aside and help out a bear cub.
This video is from Nov. 4 and took place in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, where these people found a bear cub stuck in their tree.
"We contacted Wyoming Game and Fish and once they determined he was indeed an orphan, they sent out a wildlife biologist to tranquilize him in order to try to save the little guy," the YouTube description states.
"Once tranquilized, the cub fell safely into the tarp," it continues. "From there he was evaluated by a local vet and then transported to the Idaho Black Bear Rehabilitation Center where he will winter and hopefully become strong and healthy enough to be released back to the wild!"
Personally, I'm a little nervous about the whole "released back into the wild," thing.
But it's actually OK. This little guy, who was named Wyatt by the way, now knows that humans are a pretty good breed and may be an advocate for us at Bearmageddon HQ.
Remember us, Wyatt, because we'll remember you.
