SALT LAKE CITY — Police have identified a motorcyclist who died after a crash Tuesday afternoon at 600 W. 400 South in downtown Salt Lake City.

Craig O. Kruse, 42, was eastbound on 400 South when he collided head-on with a blue Acura RDX in the westbound lane after reportedly drifting across lanes, according to a Wednesday statement from Salt Lake City police. Kruse was pronounced dead on the scene.

There were three occupants inside the Acura, one of which was transported to the hospital with very minor injuries, police said.

Police closed 400 South between 500 West and 700 West for several hours Tuesday afternoon while they investigated the crash.
