OGDEN — State Route 39 is closed in Ogden Canyon due to downed power lines and a fire caused by those downed lines, officials said.

Utah Department of Transportation officials said the highway is closed one mile east of Ogden. It’s not clear when the highway will reopen and officials urged motorists to use alternate routes.

UDOT spokeswoman Lisa Miller added that though the road briefly reopened, it was closed again from Valley Drive to state Route 158 as workers repair the downed power lines. Miller did not have an estimated time of when the road would reopen.

Further details about the incident weren’t provided.
