DETROIT (AP) — Mohamed Ibrahim ran for career-high 224 yards and two touchdowns, leading Minnesota to a 34-10 win over Georgia Tech in the Quick Lane Bowl. The Golden Gophers won three of their last four games and Ibrahim had a lot to do with that with at least 100 yards in each of those games. The Yellow Jackets did not have the speed or strength to slow down Ibrahim and their triple-option offense was stunted in coach Paul Johnson's finale.

Several media reports say Wimbush has notified Notre Dame that he intends to transfer. The senior already has a degree and could go to another school and play immediately as a graduate transfer.

On the bright side, the pay is great. This season nine of the 10 highest paid assistant coaches in college football this season were on the defensive side
UNDATED (AP) — Wisconsin and Miami followed much of the same dreary path that started in the warmth of the Orange Bowl and ends with a frigid thud at Yankee Stadium. The Badgers and Hurricanes were both AP Top 25 teams when they played last season in the Orange Bowl. That ended in a 34-24 victory for No. 6 Wisconsin in a game that seemed to serve as a preview for a better 2018 ahead for both programs. Instead, both have has disappointing seasons heading into a dud of a rematch in the Pinstripe Bowl.
SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) — Duke coach David Cutcliffe has a winning history at the Independence Bowl and hopes that can continue on when the Blue Devils square off against Temple. As the Ole Miss head coach, Cutcliffe won Independence Bowls in 1998, 1999 and 2002. Temple has won six of seven games to end the regular season. The Owls will be led Thursday by interim coach Ed Foley after head coach Geoff Collins left for Georgia Tech
