SALT LAKE CITY — Professional cyclists from around the world will compete in the 14th annual Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah beginning Monday — meaning motorists will have to watch out for cyclists more often than they already do.

The competition is a seven-day, men’s professional stage bike race that will begin Monday in St. George and conclude Aug. 12 in Park City.

The race will unfold in seven stages. Here are the road closures, parking restrictions and traffic delays drivers should keep an eye out for:

Prologue: St. George - Aug. 6 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

  • Red Hills Parkway between Skyline and 900 East will be partially closed at 12 p.m. Sunday. The road will be open for local traffic only.
  • Red Hills Parkway will fully close between Bluff Street and 900 East at 5 a.m. Monday.
  • A 1.62-mile section of Red Hills Parkway from Pioneer Park to the turnaround a half-mile beyond Pioneer Hills Trailhead will be closed Monday from 5 a.m. to 4 p.m.

All the road closures you need to know about for the Tour of Utah bike race

Stage 1: Cedar City - Aug. 7 from 10:50 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.

  • The intersection of 300 West and University Boulevard (Center Street) will close for one block in each direction beginning at 6 a.m. Monday.
  • The University Boulevard closure will extend to 100 West Tuesday at 5 a.m
  • No vehicles or trailers can park on the streets used by the race circuit around Southern Utah University’s campus beginning overnight Monday until 3 p.m. Tuesday.
  • No parking is allowed Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Main Street in downtown Cedar City and Center Street to 200 North.

Stage 2: Payson - Aug. 8 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.

  • Main Street from E. 300 South to E. 200 South will close Tuesday at 8 a.m.
  • The Main Street closure will extend from E. 300 South to S. 100 East Tuesday at 8 p.m.
  • E. 500 South to Utah Avenue will close Wednesday at 6 a.m.
  • 300 South from S. 200 East will close Wednesday at 6 a.m.
  • E. 200 South from Main Street to S. 200 East will close Wednesday at 6 a.m.
  • Parking is restricted from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday in front of the Peteetneet Museum on 600 East between 100 North to 100 South.

Stage 3: Antelope Island to Layton - Aug. 9 from 11:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.

  • The causeway to Antelope Island State Park opens at 6 a.m. and will close just before 11 a.m. Access to the island will close at 10 a.m.
  • The race will begin at 11:15 a.m. on Antelope Island Road (see map below for full route or click here). Traffic is allowed to follow behind the race but only at the same speed as the race, or about 22 to 28 miles per hour.
  • If motorists are traveling toward the race, the Utah Highway Patrol will be controlling all traffic at certain intersections, treating this as a rolling road closure.
  • Drivers should be prepared for delays if they commute near the race route.

Stage 4: Salt Lake City - Aug. 10 from 12:40 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.

  • N. Main Street between 200 North and 300 North will close at 9 a.m. Thursday.
  • N. Main Street will close in both directions between N. Temple and 300 North from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 10
  • Limited accommodations will be made for residents on N. Main Street between 4 a.m. to 11 a.m. Aug.10.
  • Northbound lanes on State Street from S. Temple to 2nd Avenue will close Aug. 10 during the race.
  • Westbound lanes on N. Temple from N. State Street to N. Main Street will be closed August 10 during the race.
  • Traffic will flow eastbound onto 2nd Avenue from the north lanes of N. State Street at City Creek Park.
  • One block of E. 500 North between Columbus Street East and DeSoto Street East will use the eastbound lane for the race. The westbound lane will be open for traffic.

Stage 5: Canyons Village to Snowbird Resort - Aug. 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

  • The Ultimate Challenge will begin at 7:30 a.m. Aug. 11 at Canyons Village. Expect delays from 7:30 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. along Canyons Resort Drive, Frostwood Drive, Cooper Lane, Sun Peak Drive and Old Ranch Road.
  • The Tour of Utah race will begin at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 11 at Canyons Village. Expect delays from 11:30 a.m. to 11:55 a.m. along the same roads as the Ultimate Challenge. To see the race’s full route, see the map below or click here.
  • Highway 224 will experience temporary delays to allow the race to cross the highway.
  • Traffic is allowed follow behind the race, but only at the same speed as the race, or about 22 to 28 miles per hour.
  • If motorists are traveling toward the race, the Utah Highway Patrol will be controlling all traffic at certain intersections, treating this as a rolling road closure.
  • Drivers should be prepared for delays if they commute near the race route.

Stage 6: Park City - Aug. 12 from 12:15 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.

  • Main Street from Heber Avenue to Swede Alley will close at 4 a.m. Aug. 12.
  • The race will start at 12:15 p.m. in the Old Town area and will continue to Bonanza Drive and east on Kearns Boulevard.
  • Temporary closures will impact Main Street, Swede Alley and Deer Valley Drive.
  • Commuters should expect delays from Montage Resort to Deer Valley Drive.
  • Traffic is allowed follow behind the race, but only at the same speed as the race, or about 22 to 28 miles per hour.
  • If motorists are traveling toward the race, the Utah Highway Patrol will be controlling all traffic at certain intersections, treating this as a rolling road closure.
  • Drivers should be prepared for delays if they commute near the race route.
