RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Washington Redskins coach Jay Gruden says defensive lineman Stacy McGee and cornerback Joshua Holsey will begin training camp on the physically unable to perform list.
Gruden announced the injury statuses Wednesday during his annual camp-opening news conference ahead of the first on-field workouts Thursday.
McGee had core-muscle surgery, and Holsey is dealing with a foot injury. Gruden says Josh Doctson had an Achilles tendon MRI that revealed no damage for the wide receiver who has been hampered by soreness there during his two NFL seasons.
Players who are recovering from surgeries, notably left tackle Trent Williams (knee), running back Chris Thompson (knee) and tight end Jordan Reed (toe) will be integrated into camp as they're able to ramp up activity, according to Gruden.
