BOCA RATON, Fla. (AP) — Florida Atlantic has hired Brian White as athletic director, giving the school someone with strong bloodlines in college sports.

The school said Saturday the former Missouri executive signed a five-year contract. He will also serve as vice president. White replaces Pat Chun, who left FAU to become athletic director at Washington State.

White is the son of Duke athletic director Kevin White, the brother of Central Florida athletic director Danny White and the brother of Florida men's basketball coach Mike White.

White is a graduate of Notre Dame and Ohio University. He has also worked at Army West Point, Tulsa and Louisiana Tech.
