SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Jazz announced their summer league roster Thursday, including a talented backcourt that should be one of the best in summer league competition.

The headline name Dante Exum is taking part in summer league ahead of his fourth NBA season. The former No. 5 pick from Australia had said after the season ended that he did not plan to play in summer league, but it appears the Jazz were able to change his mind. After the draft last Thursday, Jazz general manager Dennis Lindsey told reporters that Exum was likely to play in the Utah Jazz Summer League, but not in the Vegas Summer League.

Alongside Exum will be Jazz draft pick Donovan Mitchell. Mitchell will participate in both summer leagues and figures to get time at the point guard and shooting guard positions.

"We’ll go let them compete together, and they’ll both be playing together," Lindsey said. "We’re looking forward to seeing that with our summer league."

Nigel Williams-Goss will also get time on the floor, especially in Vegas. Tony Bradley will play at the big positions, along with last year's second-round pick Joel Bolomboy.

Exum isn't the only Australian: The Jazz have added Adelaide 36ers teammates Mitch Creek and Nate Sobey to the summer league roster.

The Utah Jazz Summer League takes place on July 3, 5 and 6, with the Jazz playing the Spurs, 76ers and Celtics in that order. All Jazz games begin at 7 p.m. at the Huntsman Center, with Vivint Arena undergoing renovations.

Then, the Jazz will fly on July 7 to Las Vegas to participate in the NBA Summer League. 24 NBA teams are participating in the tournament, which guarantees at least five games to all who take part. The Jazz will play Portland on July 8 at 4 p.m., the LA Clippers on July 9 at 6 p.m. and the Memphis Grizzlies on July 11 at 2:30 p.m. before moving into the double-elimination tournament phase.

To prepare for summer league play, the Jazz will hold a mini-camp from June 30 through July 2 at the Huntsman Center. The mini-camp is not open to the public.
