(KSL News) A Utah native has been singled out in the probe into the firings of nine U.S. attorneys by former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.
In a report released yesterday, Justice Department Inspector General Glenn Fine said former Gonzales Chief of Staff Kyle Sampson was in charge of the "flawed and arbitrary removal process" that led to the firings.
Sampson resigned from the office at the beginning of the scandal.
It has not been determined if criminal charges will be filed against anyone in connection with the firings.
