ST. GEORGE — A Dixie State student has been charged for allegedly offering sexual services in exchange for payment to an undercover police officer.
Ramajah Marie Patrick, 18, is charged in Washington County Justice Court with sexual solicitation, a class B misdemeanor.
Campus police began investigating Patrick on Jan. 30 when they were contacted by the Housing and Resident Life office about a student "engaging in sexual solicitation" at her dorm, according to charging documents filed Friday.
"The investigation found that on three separate occasions the defendant had met three different (men), approximately 35-45 years of age, where the defendant let them inside the apartment ... for a span of approximately 30 minutes," the charging documents state.
Patrick, whose address in court records is that of Campus View Suites, also allegedly put advertisements on Craigslist soliciting sex. An undercover officer responded to an advertisement that Patrick allegedly placed on Craigslist on Feb. 24. The two exchanged emails for several days, in which Patrick "agreed to meet up and engage in sexual acts for $100," charging documents state.
Patrick was arrested after allegedly receiving that payment from the undercover officer on March 9. She admitted to performing massages on men for payment without a license and to "engaging (in) sexual acts with other men," charging documents allege.
. She was booked into the Purgatory Correctional Facility and has since been released.
Patrick's first court hearing is scheduled for April 19.
Court records show Patrick was charged Jan. 14 with two misdemeanor underage drinking offenses. That case is ongoing.
