NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Conference player of the year Kevin Hervey scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead top seed UT Arlington to a 74-51 victory over No. 8 seed Coastal Carolina on Friday in the Sun Belt Tournament quarterfinals.

The Mavericks (25-7) will play No. 4 seed Texas State, a 63-51 winner over Louisiana-Monroe earlier Friday, in a Saturday semifinal.

Jaylen Shaw scored 14 points and Artur Labinowicz 12 for the Chanticleers (16-17).

An 8-0 run gave UTA the lead for good late in the first half and the Mavericks led 29-27 at the break.

Hervey strung together all three of his 3-pointers to give the Mavericks a 57-44 lead with four minutes remaining with UTA pulling away in the final 2½ minutes by scoring 15 straight points, 11 on free throws.
