(KSL News) Students and teachers at Woodrow Wilson Elementary School gathered to honor a beloved student in a very special way.
The parents of Hser Ner Moo, who was kidnapped and murdered in April, were present at today's ceremony.
Teacher LuAnn Kluge and former classmates of Hser Ner Moo accepted a $2,500 grant to create a multicultural library in her honor. The library will include dual-language and bilingual books from many ethnicities to serve all the parents and students at the school.
Kluge said, "Unfortunately for Hser Ner Moo, it had to end the way it did, but hopefully her legacy can carry on in these books. And watching the parents and children read these books will mean a lot to everybody."
The 100-percent For Kids Credit Union Education Foundation funded the grant.
