OREM — A business fire destabilized an Orem building Tuesday and caused at least $225,000 in damage, authorities said.
The 3 p.m. fire ignited inside a single-story commercial building at 1418 W. 130 South, said Orem Fire Battalion Chief Ryan Peterson.
The fire was started by a "chemical container failure that ignited some surrounding items," he said.
Firefighters from Orem, Provo and Pleasant Grove responded, requiring about 40 minutes to put out the fire. A handful of businesses inside the building were affected, including an HVAC business and an auto shop, Peterson said.

The building was unstable following the fire. Crews remained on scene late Tuesday afternoon putting out hot spots.
Peterson said the cause of the fire was confirmed to be accidental. No injuries were reported.
