WASHINGTON (AP) — Republican vice presidential nominee Mike Pence says he and Donald Trump will accept the results of the election, despite Trump's talk of "a rigged election." Pence tells NBC's "Meet the Press" that there's an "obvious bias" on the part of the media, and he says that bias is what's behind Trump's claims.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Authorities say the 15-year-old daughter of Olympic sprinter Tyson Gay has been fatally shot in Kentucky. The circumstances are unclear. Lexington police say witnesses reported an exchange of gunfire between two cars in a restaurant parking lot near the University of Kentucky campus, but police don't believe Trinity Gay was in either of the vehicles involved. The Fayette County coroner's office says Gay died at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

STORRS, Conn. (AP) — A student at the University of Connecticut has been run over and killed by a vehicle from the campus fire department. State police say the 19-year-old student was sitting against the bay door of the campus public safety complex in Storrs when the fire department got an emergency call and opened the door. The report says the student then fell back on the ground and the vehicle ran over her.

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say a security guard at a Philadelphia-area university was hit by a stray bullet when shots were fired during homecoming festivities early today. Lincoln University said an altercation occurred on the main campus in Chester County and shots were fired. A bullet hit a van that was carrying private security guards, striking an officer, who was taken to a hospital for surgery.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — "The Accountant" has opened to a chart-topping $24.7 million this weekend, according to studio estimates. The R-rated thriller stars Ben Affleck as an autistic mathematician. The comedy concert film "Kevin Hart: What Now?" debuted in second place with $11.98 million, edging out last week's champ "The Girl on the Train." The two films could switch places when final numbers come in tomorrow.
