ETERNIA — If you grew up on the cartoon TV show “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe,” you know that the show was always a magical experience.
I know I tuned in regularly as a kid to see Adam and Cringer fight evil as He-Man and Battlecat with weird but good friends who always found a moral to the story. I mean, who as a kid didn’t wish for a secret royal life with the innate ability to also kick butt and take names without actually having to kill any living creature? (Just me? OK.)
Part of me still wishes for that battling royal life (as He-Man or She-Ra — I’d take either one), so that’s why this video from the good folks CineFix struck a chord. Well, that and the fact that it’s hilarious and perfect in the exact shot-for-shot execution.
The beauty of this video is that it embraces the creativity of the uber-fan kid with a Super 8 camera who only had pipe cleaner and Christmas tinsel for effects, but now that kid has YouTube and the precision and resources that are easier to come by as an adult.
I doubt that you’ll receive the full powers of Grayskull when you watch this video, but you will probably be one step closer.*
