Several Salt Lake businesses report personnel changes. The Orton Group announced the promotion of Rebecca Wanlass to Media Planner and Buyer. Salt Lake City-based Workman, Nydegger & Seeley added Matthew Barlow as the law firm's newest associate.

Bill Smedley, a manager in U.S. Bank's Private Client Group in Salt Lake City has been named an annual Pacesetter award winner. The Pacesetter award is given to the top two percent of Private Group employees from throughout the nation.

Julianne Blanch, a lawyer with Snow, Christensen & Martineau, has been named to Utah Business magazine's “Rising Stars: 40 Under 40,” a list comprised of 40 of the most influential people in Utah under the age of 40.

According to the Utah Association of Realtors, there was a 31 percent overall increase in the number of single-family homes sold during the fourth quarter of 2002 compared to the same period in 2001. The average sales price of a home in Utah is $159, 665 dollars (excluding Park City). In the Salt Lake area, there was a 34 percent increase in the number of homes sold during the fourth quarter of 2002 over 2001. The average price for a Salt Lake home is $185,149 dollars.
