ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) — A 7-year-old Utah boy with autism has died after apparently drowning in a motel swimming pool in St. George.

Police spokesman Lona Trombley confirmed Aiden Nuzzo of St. George died at Primary Children's Hospital late Tuesday night after he was found the day before at the bottom of the pool at the Sands Motel.

The (St. George) Spectrum reports (http://tinyurl.com/zfxlj2x) officers found him Monday morning after he apparently sllipped out of a room where he and his mother were staying in a neighboring motel.

The mother called 911 when she realized he was gone and police officers discovered him in the pool about 10 minutes later. It's not clear how long he had been submerged.

An investigation into the death is continuing.
