(KSL News) A big fire is burning on Utah's west desert. The Gate Narrows fire is burning in the Johnson's Pass area.
Crews are fighting the fire about two miles west of the small town of Terra. It has burned about 250 acres but is not threatening any structures. There are ranches in the area.
The fire has closed a nine-mile stretch of State Road 199 between Terra and Rush Valley. Authorities say the road will be closed all night, and if it's closed in the morning, it could be a big problem for people heading to Dugway.
