R&O Construction, with corporate headquarters in Ogden, has broken ground on a new Ultimate Electronics in Fort Worth, Texas. The project covers 34,000 square feet of retail space and will be completed in mid June.

Granite Construction Company recently purchased approximately 60 acres of permitted sand and gravel reserves and a concrete batching facility at Point of the Mountain. Construction Products Company, the materials division of Granite, will manage the facility as part of their existing commercial aggregate and ready-mix business.

Edward Jones, a financial services company, is holding a grand reopening celebration tomorrow, March 22nd from 6 to 8 p.m. at their office at 38 West 200 South. Call John R.E. Redd for more information at 323-0900.

Here’s an Olympic business fact: Of the nearly 1000 cast members in the opening and closing ceremonies of the Paralympic Winter Games, 95 percent came from Utah.

Upon unanimous vote of the Salt Lake Chamber’s Board of Governors, Mitt Romney has been chosen as A Giant In Our City. This award is Salt Lake’s highest honor. Previous recipients of A Giant In Our City include Frank Joklik, Governor Calvin Rampton, Chris Johnson, B.Z. Kastler, and Arch Madsen. Mitt will be honored at a banquet on April 24th. There are still a few sponsorship opportunities available for this event.
