Spencer’s For Steaks and Chops, located in the Hilton Salt Lake City Center Hotel, has earned the “Finest Cuisine” award at the annual “Taste of Salt Lake” competition and also took first place in the “Best Traditional Soups” category at the 2001 Art & Soup Competion.

According to the May survey of purchasing managers and business leaders in Utah, the state’s economy continues to grow at a higher rate than the rest of the United States. This can be attributed in part to the expanding energy sector of Utah’s economy.

Smith Sligting Partners, a Salt Lake graphic design company, was selected by KUTV Channel 2, a CBS affiliate, to create new graphics for their morning, noon, evening, and nightly news programs.

emWare®, a provider of device networking technology, announced its involvement with Internet Home Alliance, a non-profit association that promotes the “Internet lifestyle”. The association works on growing the home technology market by developing Internet lifestyle solutions.

Here’s an Olympic business fact: During the Sydney Games hotels experienced a 98 percent occupancy rate.
