(KSL News) Seventeen teams of professional cyclists are racing 342 miles up and down the Wasatch Front in the Tour of Utah, and the emphasis is on up -- nearly 30,000 feet of climbing will be accomplished when the race is finished.
There are five stages in this year's tour, all taking place in a 100 mile radius. Stage three starts and finishes tonight at Salt Lake City's Pioneer Park. Roads in the area will be closed.
The teams are competing for a $75,000 purse, which includes a new car.
