PARIS (AP) — Two French music festivals have cancelled Eagles of Death Metal's concerts this summer in reaction to comments by the band's frontman over the Paris attacks.
The Rock en Seine concert in Paris and the Cabaret Vert festival in northern France said in a statement Friday they are "in total disagreement with Jesse Hughes' recent allegations."
Hughes told the U.S. online Taki's Magazine last week that he saw some "terrorists" in the Bataclan concert hall before the Nov. 13 show and saw "Muslims celebrating in the street during the attack."
The band's performance on Nov. 13 turned into a bloodbath when suicide bombers stormed in as part of near-simultaneous attacks in Paris.
The band had previously returned to France to perform a show in Paris on Feb. 17.
