DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — A Hilton Garden Inn manager found Frank Sinatra Jr. unresponsive and not breathing after the entertainer failed to answer a knock at his hotel door notifying the entertainer it was time to leave for a soundcheck.
The front desk clerk in Daytona Beach, Florida, called 911 on Wednesday afternoon, telling the dispatcher an "elderly male" was likely having a "cardiac problem."
The 72-year-old son of Frank Sinatra was pronounced dead a short time later at a hospital.
The Volusia County Sheriff's Office dispatch log shows medics inserted a breathing tube and applied defibrillation two times before taking Sinatra Jr. to the hospital.
Earlier this month, Sinatra Jr. told the Daytona Beach News-Journal (bit.ly/1PgbPb4) that he had friends who live in the area and he was looking forward to his visit.
