NEW YORK (AP) — Relatives of a former FBI agent who disappeared in Iran almost nine years ago say they're happy for the families of the Americans who were just released by that country, but wish they had something to celebrate as well. Robert Levinson vanished from an Iranian resort in March 2007. An Associated Press investigation revealed he was working for the CIA at the time. Levinson's family has pushed the U.S. government to bring him home but Iran officials have said they don't know where Levinson is. Five Americans being held in Iran were released Saturday, the same day last summer's nuclear deal was finalized.
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — All three Democratic presidential candidates have been in South Carolina today, speaking at the state NAACP's rally on the holiday to commemorate civil rights leader Martin Luther King. Hillary Clinton was the only candidate to discuss at length the Confederate flag that was removed from the capitol grounds last summer. She says South Carolina had to choose between honoring King's legacy or the Confederacy and made the right choice. Bernie Sanders says King must be remembered as a dynamic figure who fought for the poor. And Martin O'Malley said King would be ashamed the county has made it harder to vote but easier to buy a gun.
WASHINGTON, New Hampshire (AP) — Ted Cruz is accusing his Republican rival Donald Trump of displaying inconsistent conservativism, suggesting he is not prepared to be president. Cruz today accused Trump of becoming "rattled" and "dismayed" by the Texas senator's gains. The war of words between Cruz and Trump intensified in recent days, with Trump continuing to question Cruz's eligibility to be on the ballot given his Canadian birth, and focusing on loans Cruz received from Citibank and Goldman Sachs for his 2012 Senate race.
HONOLULU (AP) — Authorities searching for 12 Marines missing after two helicopters crashed off Hawaii have found some life rafts that were carried aboard the aircraft. A Coast Guard spokeswoman says some of the rafts were inflated, but it's not clear how that happened. The search for any survivors of last week's crash is continuing today. Search teams from various agencies have been at work around-the-clock since a civilian reported the crash late Thursday. The cause of the crash is not yet known.
MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexican authorities say they want to talk to actor Kate del Castillo, who arranged Sean Penn's interview with drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman. A federal official says investigators have formally asked del Castillo to meet with them about the encounter she and Penn had with Guzman. The official says del Castillo is considered a witness and is not accused of any crime. Guzman was captured earlier this month, six months after escaping from a maximum-security prison. Penn's article about Guzman was published by Rolling Stone a day after his capture.
