OBERHOF, Germany (AP) — Olympic champions Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt led a 1-2 German finish in a luge doubles event Sunday with their fourth World Cup win of the season.

The pair put together the fastest runs in both heats to record their 33rd World Cup win. They are only one win away from tying the record of 34 victories held by fellow Germans Patric Leitner and Alexander Resch, who retired in 2010.

Wendl and Arlt beat Toni Eggert and Sascha Benecken by .609 seconds and are now 22 points ahead of their German compatriots in the overall standings.

Peter Penz and Georg Fischler of Austria took third place, .737 seconds behind the winners. The Austrians were the only non-Germans to make the podium in three World Cup events over the weekend.
