SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Brandon Brown had 22 points and nine assists on Saturday night and Loyola Marymount beat Santa Clara 76-66.
David Humphries added 14 points and Adom Jacko scored 12 for the Lions (9-9, 2-5 West Coast Conference), who won their second straight after opening the conference season losing five straight.
Loyola Marymount pulled away with a 9-1 run in the middle of the second half capped by Brown's jumper at 60-46. Brown finished two points off his season high.
Humphries made 4 of 6 from 3-point range — two of them back-to-back — to give the Lions the lead for good late in the first half.
Jared Brownridge had 17 of his 20 points in the second half for the Broncos (7-13, 3-5). Kai Healy added 15 points on 5-of-6 shooting.
Loyola Marymount outrebounded Santa Clara 38-23 and had 21 second-chance points to the Broncos' three.
